Semi-Annual Blowout Extravaganza -- Details and Changes
It is that time of year again . . . our biggest sale of the year is scheduled for the last weekend in January. Beginning Friday, January 23rd you will find amazing bargains with almost everything in the store marked down 30%. Saturday, January 24th, the discounts get deeper and 40% will come off the price of those items included in the sale. Finally, on Sunday, January 25th, we will take 50% off all remaining sale items.
So, what is on sale? All the clothing in the store will be included. We will also include any and all previously owned merchandise that has been in the store for more than a few weeks. This will include toys, gear, etc. There will be a handful of new products included and we will have detailed information for you at the time of the sale. Most of our new products like Ergo, Bravado, Fuzzi Bunz, and some of the local wares will not be included in the sale.
As we continue to learn about the business and our community, it is necessary that we change and grow in ways that maintain our viability. So, for this sale there will be two changes. The first regards CluckBucks, our frequent shopper card. This card essentially provides an opportunity for our regular customers to save 10% on all of their purchases. We simply cannot afford to combine all the discounts at once and so the purchase amounts of sale items will not be applied to your CluckBucks card. We will redeem CluckBucks cards that are already full and worth $20 off. And that leads to the second change . . .
In the past, we have held a pre-sale event and offered the largest discount on the best selection. Last year, the pre-sale event was The Event and that sort of defeats the purpose. This year, our pre-sale event will be Invitation Only (enforced by Yours Truly). Our intention is to recognize and appreciate the customers that make The Red Hen possible. So, your name goes on the List when you redeem a CluckBucks card between sales. Since our sale in July, we have kept a running list of everyone who has redeemed a CluckBucks card and those folks will receive a special email (with all the details of the pre-sale event) to print and bring in. Tell your friends, there is still time to redeem that CluckBucks card at the store before January 22nd and get on our VIP Invitation Only Pre-Sale Event List!!!

This alls sounds great and entirely appropriate. The Red Hen has been such a wonderful community resource that I think balancing efforts to ensure its financial success with those to offer great values will benefit us all in the long run because The Red Hen will stay in business for a long time to come!! what is the red hen's take on the new laws passed stating feb 10 by the CPSIA concerning children's products, are you shutting down like many other consignment/thrift stores are thinking is going to happen?
